Why You'll Love This Banana Peach Smoothie
Healthy snack or quick breakfast - You can serve this smoothie as a light breakfast or as a refreshing snack in the summer. It makes one serving as a breakfast or 1-2 servings when served as a snack. Add your favorite protein powder to turn it into a more filling breakfast!
Sweet summer flavor - You can make this smoothie with fresh or frozen peaches but the better the peaches, the better the smoothie! Sweet, ripe, and juicy peaches are the best! The smoothie has a creamy texture and tastes just like a peach cobbler in a smoothie form!
Easy and versatile - All you need are a few simple, easy-to-find ingredients and a good blender. The smoothie comes together in just about 5 minutes! You can easily make it your own by adding your favorite protein or other fruits.
Ingredients
- Peaches - I recommend using frozen peaches to make the smoothie thicker and cold. You can use fresh peaches as well but you might have to add some ice cubes. I like freezing peaches from my local farmer’s market while they’re in season, and then I use them for smoothies when peaches are out of season.
- Banana - Frozen banana makes the smoothie extra creamy and cool. If you don't like bananas, you can just add ice instead, but you will lose the creaminess, and it will be less sweet. If you use fresh banana, add ice to keep the smoothie cool.
- Mango and pineapple - For a more complex flavor, I add a little bit of frozen mango and frozen pineapple to the smoothie. This is optional, and you can just add more peaches, but I like the flavor combination.
- Almond milk - To make the smoothie creamier, I use almond milk instead of water in this smoothie. You can use whole milk, boxed coconut milk, oat milk, soy milk, or any other plant-based milk you like in smoothies.
- Yogurt - Greek yogurt or a creamy non-dairy yogurt makes the smoothie extra creamy, a little tangy, and just like a peach creamsicle!
- Vanilla extract - Vanilla goes really well with peaches and cream and it's amazing in this smoothie. You don't taste it all that much but it rounds out all the flavors perfectly. You can also use vanilla paste, vanilla powder, or the seeds from a vanilla bean. Add less if you're using powder or the vanilla bean.
- Protein powder - This is optional but if you're serving the smoothie for breakfast, I recommend adding some protein powder to make it more filling. I like using Sprout Living protein. Both unflavored and vanilla protein work in this smoothie.
Variations and Substitutions
- No milk - You can add peach juice, orange juice, or coconut water to change things up a bit if you don't have almond milk.
- No banana - If you don't like banana, you can add more frozen peaches, pineapple, or mango. You can also add a handful of ice to make the smoothie colder.
- Sweetener - I find the smoothie is sweet enough on its own but if you want yours sweeter, you can add a touch of maple syrup, honey, or a pitted Medjool date.
- Chia or flax seeds - Add ground flax or chia seeds to the blender to add healthy fats, fiber, and protein.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Add everything to a high-speed blender. Start with 1 cup of milk and add more to reach your desired consistency.
- Blend the smoothie on high for 1-2 minutes or until smooth.

Serving and Storing
The smoothie is best served right away. You can serve it in one tall glass for breakfast or a light lunch, or you can serve it in two shorter glasses as a refreshing snack for two.
If you have any leftovers, keep them in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Alternatively, you can also store leftovers in the freezer for 1-2 months. Freeze the smoothie either in an ice cube tray to defrost or blend with milk, or you can freeze it in popsicle molds to enjoy it as popsicles later!
FAQs
I highly recommend using frozen fruit because it thickens and cools the smoothie. If you don't have frozen fruit, you can use fresh, but you'll have to add some ice to make the smoothie colder.
Yes, just add vegan yogurt and vegan milk. I like using thick coconut yogurt and good almond milk.
The smoothie is naturally sweet on its own but if you want to add a little more sweetness, I recommend either Medjool dates, agave, or maple syrup. You could also the peach syrup from this Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade!
