Why This Recipe Works
Tropical and refreshing - Sweet mango gives the smoothie a tropical flavor that balances out the tartness of raspberries really well. It's refreshing, light, and the perfect snack for a hot summer day!
Delicious and nutritious - The raspberries and mango are packed with nutrients like vitamin C and coconut yogurt or Greek yogurt adds healthy fats. You can easily turn this into a green smoothie to get your daily dose of greens in first thing in the morning as well!
Breakfast or a snack - This recipe can be served as both a breakfast or a refreshing snack. It yields one serving as a breakfast or two as a snack. I recommend adding protein powder or hemp seeds to make it more filling as a breakfast.
Easy to eat on the go - A smoothie is a great breakfast for those extra busy work days when you need to be out the door quickly. Smoothies are really easy to take with you and you'll save time and money trying to find breakfast on your way to work!
Ingredients
- Raspberries - Frozen raspberries are ideal but you can use fresh berries as well. This recipe calls for only frozen fruit to keep the smoothie creamy and cool without any ice.
- Mango - Frozen mango is usually the most budget-friendly option as fresh mangos can get expensive. It's also great when you're making this smoothie out of season.
- Banana - Frozen banana is what makes this smoothie extra creamy. I like to buy a bunch, allow them to ripen, break them up into thirds or halves, and freeze in a big freezer bag to always have them on hand for smoothies.
- Yogurt - You can use any yogurt you prefer. Greek yogurt makes the smoothie extra rich and creamy. I like using vegan coconut yogurt to keep the smoothie dairy-free.
- Almond milk - Use any milk you'd normally add to your smoothies works here. I like using non-dairy milk in my smoothies. Almond milk or coconut milk from a carton are what I go with most often.
- Vanilla extract - Vanilla adds a little bit of flavor and balances everything out. You can also use vanilla paste, or vanilla powder.
Variations and Substitutions
- Cinnamon - I add cinnamon to most smoothies just to add that little something and because it's said to balance blood sugar which is important when consuming a lot of blended fruits or anything sweet. The flavor of cinnamon also goes great with any berries!
- Protein powder - If you want to make this into a more filling breakfast, snack, or even a light lunch, add some protein powder! I like the unflavored Sprout Living protein powder but you can use any brand you like most.
- Flax meal - Flax seeds contain a lot of fiber, nutrients, and even some protein. Add ground flax seeds (aka flax meal) to your smoothies for extra fiber.
- Greens - You can add your favorite fresh greens like kale or spinach to this smoothie or your favorite greens powder. Just keep in mind it will change the color of this smoothie.
- Coconut water - To change things up, you can use coconut water instead of almond milk in this smoothie. Make sure to always use 100% pure coconut water.
- Orange juice - If you want some extra flavor, add in orange juice instead of some of the almond milk. A mix of coconut water and orange juice would also be delicious! Freshly squeezed orange juice will give the smoothie the best flavor.
- Maple syrup - I find the smoothie is sweet enough as is but you can always add a little bit of maple syrup or a pitted medjool date to sweeten it a little more.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Add almond milk, yogurt, frozen banana, frozen mango, frozen raspberries, and vanilla extract into a high-speed blender.
- I recommend always adding liquid first to help the frozen fruit blend better.
- Blend on high until smooth. Add more liquids if needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Best served right away. Enjoy!
Serving Suggestions
You can serve the smoothie in a glass or you can add less almond milk for a thicker, more soft serve-like consistency and serve it in a bowl with your favorite toppings!
Storing
Smoothies are best served right away while they're still cold and creamy. If you need to store any leftover smoothie, store it in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Pick a jar that fits the amount of smoothie you have the best. The less empty space and air there is in the jar, the longer the smoothie will stay fresh.
FAQs
Mango goes great with pineapple, strawberries, peach, banana, or passion fruit. All of them could be added to this smoothie to change things up!
Since we're using frozen fruit, I don't recommend refreezing it. If you blend up fresh fruit, you can freeze it in an ice cube tray and blend it with milk later for a quick smoothie.

Creamy and not overly sweet! I added vanilla protein powder.
