Description

This Rose Margarita is a floral twist on the classic cocktail made with homemade rose syrup. It's super easy to put together and it's a hit at every party!


Ingredients

Rose Syrup

  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3-4 tbsp rose water

Rose Margarita

  • 1 tbsp cane sugar
  • 1/2 tsp food-grade crushed dried rose petals
  • Lime wedge
  • ice
  • 1 1/2 oz silver tequila
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz rose syrup
  • Food-grade dried rose petals (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Rose Syrup

  1. Add cane sugar and water to a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Take the syrup off the heat and stir in rose water.
  5. Pour into a glass jar and store in the fridge.

Rose Margarita

  1. Mix together cane sugar and dried rose petals on a small plate.
  2. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it in the sugar.
  3. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  4. Into a cocktail shaker, add silver tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and rose syrup.
  5. Add a handful of ice and shake vigorously for 5-10 seconds.
  6. Strain the drink into your prepared glass and garnish with more rose petals if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

You can store any leftover syrup in an airtight jar in the fridge for two weeks.
