Description

This homemade Passion Fruit Simple Syrup is perfect for cocktails, mocktails, lemonades, and more! You can even drizzle it over ice cream, desserts, or pancakes!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 passion fruits

Instructions

  1. Add cane sugar, water, and passion fruit pulp into a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil stirring constantly until all of the cane sugar dissolves.
  3. Lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Take the syrup off the heat and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a large measuring cup or a bowl.
  6. Pour into an airtight glass jar and wait for it to cool down completely before closing with a lid.
  7. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Storing: Store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Always use a clean spoon.

Freezing: Freeze any leftover syrup you won't be able to use in a small freezer-safe container. I like using multiple small 2-4 serving containers and labeling them so that I know how much I need to defrost each time. Defrost the syrup in the fridge in just a couple of hours.
