Description

This Mocha Smoothie is extra creamy, super easy to make, and it can be served as both a breakfast or a healthy dessert!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1-2 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1-2 shots espresso
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (I used coconut yogurt)
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder (or cocoa)
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional, I used unflavored)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Into a high-speed blender add frozen banana, medjool dates, espresso, almond milk, yogurt, cacao powder, protein powder, vanilla extract, and cinnamon if using.
  2. Blend on high until smooth.
  3. Serve in 1-2 glasses and top with whipped cream and a light sprinkle of turbinado sugar to make it extra special if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

Sweetener: If you don’t have Medjool dates, you can also sweeten the smoothie with maple syrup, brown sugar, or skip the sweetener. Use a sugar-free sweetener if preferred.

Storing: The smoothie is best enjoyed right away but any leftovers can be stored in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
