Description
This Passion Fruit Mojito is a tropical take on the classic cocktail and the perfect drink to cool down with in the summer. See notes for a non-alcoholic version.
Ingredients
- A handful of fresh mint leaves (around 15 leaves, plus more for garnish)
- 1 lime, chopped (save a slice for garnish if desired)
- 1-2 passion fruit (1 into the drink, more for garnish)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup (or 1 oz simple syrup)
- 2 oz white rum
- ice
- Sparkling water
Instructions
- Add the mint leaves, lime, passion fruit pulp, and maple syrup to a tall glass.
- Using a cocktail muddler, muddle everything together to release the juices and flavors of the fruit.
- Add the rum and fill the glass up with ice.
- Top up with sparkling water and garnish with your reserved slice of lime and fresh mint leaves.
- Serve with a straw and enjoy!
Notes
Passion fruit: I usually like to add 1 passion fruit into the drink and half of another one on top for garnish but you can add more to the drink if you have small passion fruits and want extra flavor. You can also strain the passion fruit pulp to avoid having the seeds in the drink if desired.
Non-alcoholic version: Follow the instructions as you would with the regular cocktail and add everything except the rum. If you have a non-alcoholic spirit you like, you can use it in place of the rum or just omit it. Add sparkling water or flavored soda to make the drink more fun. I like sugar-free ones like LaCroix. A passion fruit or lime flavored ones are perfect.
