Description

A French 77 is a simple Champagne cocktail made with sparkling wine, elderflower liqueur, and lemon juice. It's great for any special occasion, the holidays, or a New Year's party. It's a great cocktail to make both for a crowd or as one or two servings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 oz elderflower liqueur
  • 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 oz chilled Champagne or Prosecco
  • Garnish: lemon twist or half of a lemon slice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add elderflower liqueur and lemon juice to a champagne flute.
  2. Slowly pour in the Champagne or Prosecco and garnish with a lemon twist. Enjoy!

Notes

This cocktail has no ice so it’s important to make sure the Champagne is properly chilled, ideally overnight.
