Description
This Mango Margarita is sweet, tropical, and perfect for the summer! It's made with delicious homemade mango syrup, and the recipe includes a pitcher version for a crowd! It has just 4 ingredients, it's simple, and so flavorful!
Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp agave syrup
- 1 tbsp Tajin
- 1 1/2 oz reposado or silver tequila
- 1/2 oz orange liqueur (I use Cointreau)
- 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz Mango Simple Syrup
- 1 dash orange or mango bitters (optional)
- 2 cups ice (approx., divided)
- Garnish: slices of fresh mango, lime slice
Instructions
- To create a Tajin rim on your glass, brush the rim with agave syrup and dip it in Tajin on a small plate. You can do this on just one side or do a classic thin rim all around. Fill the glass with ice and set it aside.
- Into a cocktail shaker, add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, mango simple syrup, and bitters if using.
- Add about 1 cup of ice cubes and shake the cocktail vigorously for a few seconds.
- Strain the margarita into your prepared glass and garnish with slices of fresh mango and lime if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
Tajin rim: I like using agave because I find the Tajin sticks to it better, and it’s a nice combination of sweet and salty. If you don’t have it, you can use honey instead, or keep it classic and rub a lime wedge around the glass.
Pitcher for 6: 9 oz tequila, 3 oz orange liqueur, 6 oz lime juice, 6 oz mango syrup, 6 dashes mango or orange bitters. Stir everything together in a large pitcher and add ice. Alternatively, you can cool the mixture in the fridge for an hour in the fridge first and then serve it over ice.
