Description

This Coconut Sugar Simple Syrup is the easiest coffee syrup ever and a great alternative to regular simple syrup with white sugar. Perfect syrup for coffee, matcha lattes, cocktails, pancakes, and more!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/8 tsp fine sea salt (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add coconut sugar and water to a small saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly, just until the sugar dissolves to prevent it from burning.
  3. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Take the syrup off the heat and stir in fine sea salt and vanilla extract (if using).
  5. Pour the syrup into a glass jar or an airtight container. Wait for the syrup to cool before closing with a lid. Store in the fridge or use right away.

Notes

The syrup yields 24 servings if you're using 1 tbsp per serving.

Storing: You can store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. You can also freeze it in a freezer-safe container for up to 3-5 months. I don’t recommend storing it in an ice cube tray because the syrup never freezes completely solid, so you wouldn’t be able to get actual cubes.
